About the Journal

Moscosoa is the scientific journal of the National Botanical Garden “Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso” of the Dominican Republic. Its objective is to disseminate rigorous scientific knowledge about Caribbean botany, promoting research, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable use of plant resources.

The journal accepts contributions from national and international authors and publishes works in Spanish, English, and French. It is aimed at researchers, teachers, students, and professionals linked to botanical and environmental sciences.

Moscosoa maintains an open access policy, allowing free consultation of its contents, with due recognition of copyright. Authors retain the intellectual authorship of their works, while the journal acts as a means of scientific dissemination.

Founded in 1976, the journal has a relevant historical trajectory in the study of Dominican and Caribbean flora. In its most recent stage, it has updated its editorial standards, peer-review structure, and evaluation processes, with a view to its indexing in scientific databases and its long-term digital preservation.
